Father of Internet:
Vint Cerf is an American computer Scientist who is called ‘The Father of the Internet’. In Thirty years ago, along with Robert Kahn, he created technology that as revolutionized millions of lives around the world. In the 1970’s he helped the build the internet while working as a researcher at Stanford University in California.
Vint Cerf has been at the forefront of a digital revolution that has transformed global commerce, communication, and Entertainment. Famous Phrase ‘Surfing the Internet’ is derived from his name.
First Digital Computer:
The Atanasoff-Berry Computer was the world’s first electronic ic digital computer .It was built by john Vincent Atanasoff and Clifford Berry at lowa State University during year 1937-1942.
FLOPPY INVENTER:
IBM Introduced the first ‘memory disk’ as it was called or floppy disk in 1971. The first floppy was an 8” plastic disc coated with magnetic iron oxide. Data was written to and read from the disk’s surface. The floppy was invented by IBM engineers led by Alan Shugart. The nick name floppy came from flexibility. The floppy disk was considered a revolutionary device at that time because it provided a new and easy means of physically transporting data from one computer to another computer.
ENTER IN INDIA:
The computer first came to India in 1952. It was Analog computer. In 1956 The First Digital Computer was shipped from London to India. It cost about one lakh, and occupied about 300 squares feet. In 1966 the first totally Indian computer was developed.
