Story of Ethernet:


Robert M. Metcalfe was 27 years old when he Invented the Ethernet standard in 1973. At that

time, he was working at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. Ethernet today is the most popular

International local area networking standard. Ethernet cards and ports are standard in any

computer by which one can access many kinds of network. Interestingly, Ethernet technology was

inspired by a multiple access sharing technique in satellite transmission called ALOHA.
